House Poet Don Larkin: "Sip Smile and Smoke"

I'm gonna sip, smile and smoke
And know it'll be okay
Gonna sit right down
And waste this day away

Dizzy from the spinning this rock is putting on me
I need a little shelter from all this company
Walking 'round the neighborhoods in the backroads of my mind
"The Dead" is always playing helping me make these rhymes

Don't where this road will take me Hell I don't know where I've been
Don't know when the innings over or if I'll bat again
Solitary confinement, I got so much time to serve
Judgement day is coming and it's getting on my last nerve

I'm gonna sip, smile and smoke
And know it'll be okay
Gonna sit right down
And waste this day away

The rain forest is shrinking like my faded memories
Ozone's getting holey like my favorite pair of jeans
Medicine man is asking son how much did you take
Answers from a dancer hiding in a wedding cake

Elvis and my grandpa I wonder have you seen either one
Policeman probably got them for having too much fun
I just sit here shining far from every sea
Getting dizzy from the spinning this rock is putting on me

I'm gonna sip, smile and smoke
And know it'll be okay
Gonna sit right down
And waste this day away
